Retail Store Design – AT&T Flagship

AT&T is always thinking about retailing future, and the 10,000 sq ft flagship in Chicago brings those ideas to life. The store was designed to show customers new ways to use phones to enhance their lives, which also generated additional revenue for AT&T. The design was modular and flexible so that retail displays could be changed easily and quickly. Interactive displays allowed hands-on experience. And, it was sophisticated and modern as befits a flagship store dedicated to the future of retailing. Results were overwhelming. Fast Company magazine hailed it as “beautiful” and “game-changing.” Customers bought at twice the regular rate per square foot. It was nothing short of a reinvention of shopping. I managed the agencies that concepted and built the displays, the installation, and worked closely with the product team.
